Whether you're an “old hand” or new to woodworking we can introduce you to some new skills or we can fine tune and enhance your traditional talents.

These courses are conducted after hours or on weekends with the average course lasting 2 days and in most cases quality tools and materials are provided. Then, more importantly, you get to keep your creations.

These courses enable you to interact with fellow woodworkers, share your thoughts and talents and develop a camaraderie based on the fine art of woodworking.

Beginners Woodturning Course

This is a two day course aimed at providing instruction in basic woodturning skills for those people wishing to “have a go” at this rewarding pastime.

The instructor for the course is Brian Cliffe. Brian is a well known turner in the Townsville area and has won many awards in the woodturning field. Instruction is hands-on at the Jet Tool Shop Townsville showroom using our lathes and tools. All materials for the course are supplied and the article you make are yours to keep. During the course you will make:

All items will be finished and ready to be presented to your family and friends. We will provide a light lunch, morning and afternoon smokos on both days.

The course will be run with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 5 people.

Dress Code

Students must wear closed shoes and tie back long hair or loose clothing.

Beginners Wood Working Course

This is a three day course aimed at providing instruction in basic woodworking skills for those people wishing to get involved in working with wood.

The instructor for the course is Allan Goodbun. Allan is a well known woodworking in the Townsville area. Instruction is hands-on at the Jet Tool Shop Townsville showroom using our machinery and tools. All materials for the course are supplied and the article you make are yours to keep. During the course you will make a useful piece of furniture.

•  Use of Basic hand tools
•  Common Joints
•  Finishing                

In your hands a piece made by you.                                      

We will provide a light lunch, morning and afternoon smokos on both days.
